BOSTON Omnicom’s Porter Novelli has been named lead public relations agency for Timberland, the shop confirmed.

The New York shop was awarded the business following a review. Omnicom’s Cone, Boston, had handled. It was unclear if Cone defended.

Porter Novelli will now handle public relations chores for Timberland footwear, apparel and accessories in the U.S. The budget is undisclosed.

“Timberland represents the ideal brand for which Porter Novelli can deliver significant and measurable business impact,” said Julie Winkski, the agency senior partner who heads Porter Novelli’s consumer marketing practice.
