Shooting and shmoozing

Two cute little newspaper stories about Hollywood people today. The NYT profiles screenwriter Tom Benedek (writer of ‘Cocoon’ and, yes, brother of The Other Benedek) who likes to riddle his own scripts with bullets. Surprised Sharon Waxman resisted a ‘shooting script’ pun. Meanwhile, the LAT looks at Bob DeBrino, who exists somewhere in that netherworld between producer and ‘producer’, who has convinced Jose Canseco to let him manage his attempt to break into action stardom. Frankly, I would think Canseco could do better. Anyway, ah, Hollywood, land of dreamers, etc. etc.
