ATLANTA Neathawk Dubuque said it ended first-quarter 2003 with three new clients.

The Richmond, Va., independent shop has added Virginia Exile-Project Safe Neighborhoods Foundation, Tenax and S.B. Cox. Combined billings are less than $500,000, according to the agency.

Virginia Exile, a nonprofit, statewide program whose aim is to reduce gun violence, chose the shop following a review that included crosstown rival The Martin Agency. ND will handle advertising, marketing and public relations for the primarily pro bono account.

For Richmond-based Tenax, a British IT compliance and asset management consultancy, the agency will begin work with public relations and collateral assignments. The business-to-business account will likely require a direct mail campaign, according to John Bedor, agency business development director. The account was won following an informal bidding process, he said.

“It’s a new company,” said Bedor. “Their goal is to roll out sales offices nationally.” He said the company plans to open locations in the Northeast and Southeast this year.

The shop won S.B. Cox against an undisclosed Richmond firm, also without a formal review. Efforts for the b-to-b account will include corporate identity materials.
