Possible Editor in Chief Replacements at Architectural Digest
Yesterday, Conde Nast announced that long-tenured Architectural Digest editor in chief Paige Rense Noland would retire in August. At that time, Conde had not mentioned a replacement, and now the New York Observer has fired up the speculation machine, coming up with four reasonable candidates.
On the short list:
• The New Yorker architecture critic Paul Goldberger, who the Observer reports is well acquainted with Victoria Newhouse, wife of Conde Nast chairman Si.
• Elle Decor editor in chief Margaret Russell. For more on her, check out this mediabistro.com Q&A.
• UK Elle Decor founding editor Ilse Crawford, who is now a designer.
• Deborah Needleman, who edited Domino before the Conde Nast shelter mag went busto in 2009.
