Unlike last year, Bozell goes by the book for the Art Directors Club call for entries this month.

Six subtle executions seek to highlight the ADC annual’s superiority to other books. One shows the cream-colored annual packed in a box with pages torn from other annuals, such as that of Communication Arts.

“We all collect annuals,” said agency group creative director Kerry Keenan, who served as a cd on the campaign. (Bernie Hogya and Brian Ahern served as art director and copywriter, respectively.)

“That’s what [the calls for entries] depict: They’re each about using this book, as opposed to any other award show annual that just sits on the shelf,” Keenan added.

Noticeably absent from this year’s work is shock value.
