City, winner of the 2007 National Magazine Award for Best Photo Portfolio, just announced its second-annual “One City, Many Destinations” travel photography contest. The winner will see his or her photo grace the cover of the mag’s Fall ’08 Travel issue.
Last year’s contest, won by New York’s own Konstantino Hatzisarros, drew more than 4,000 entries. This year’s winner will receive a trip for two to Austria and a chance to shoot a “sponsored-editorial travel photography story for a future issue of City.” Fifteen finalists will see their images published on the pages of the Travel issue.

CITY Announces Prizes and Deadline for Contest
NEW YORK — MARCH 2008 — CITY Magazine announces the launch of its second-annual ONE CITY, MANY DESTINATIONS travel photography contest, which boasts the ultimate grand prize: CITY’s cover shot. Amateur and professional photographers from around the world are invited to submit images that capture the essence of a city or other travel destination for juried competition and a chance at landing on the cover of CITY’s Fall ’08 Travel issue, on sale September 30, 2008.
Last year, CITY received more than 4,000 entries to the inaugural contest, with New York–based photographer Konstantino Hatzissaros’ stunning image of two Burmese monks in a Mandalay temple winning the coveted spot on CITY’s cover. The issue hit stands just as Burmese monks across Myanmar began their protests against the national junta government.
A jury of internationally renowned photography and travel aficionados will pick one winning image to appear on the cover of CITY’s Fall ’08 Travel issue. The grand-prize winner will also receive a prize package that will include an all-inclusive, weeklong trip for two to Austria, where he or she will have the opportunity to shoot a sponsored-editorial travel photography story for a future issue of CITY.
The work of 15 additional finalists will appear in a special travel photography portfolio inside CITY’s Fall ’08 Travel issue. All finalists will win a camera and/or additional prizes.
