As an inducement for cigar smokers,CigarGold.com has rolled back its prices. The e-division of Miami-based Gran Reserve is offering five hand-made, premium cigars for a nickel apiece.

The stogies, produced in the Domincan Republic, normallyretail at $23.80 for a pack of five.

The rollback to 1920s’ prices is backed by a $200,000 ad campaign on the Premier Radio Network, a unit of Clear Channel Communications. The effort is part of a customer-loyalty program developed by the company.

“Many of our customers place more than 25 orders per year,” said Stephen Barbella, president of Gran Reserve. “Once we get a customer, we keep him.”

Created by KZS in Hauppauge, N.Y., the radio spots will air through Christmas.

A print effort kicked off last week in West Coast editions of The Wall Street Journal.

Gran Reserve is owned by Synergy Brands of Miami.
