You already knew that nightlife is a young person’s game. You might not have known quite how young. A study by the University of Michigan’s Institute for Social Research (ISR) documents how quickly young adults run out of nightlife steam. As you can see from the chart, 19-20-year-olds are over three times as likely as 31-32-year-olds to be out on the town three or more nights per week. There’s an even wider gap in the number who go to parties at least once a week: at age 19-20, 29 percent of men and 25 percent of women do so; just 3 percent of men and 2 percent of women sustain that pace at age 31-32.
