After a year-long review, Winn-Dixie Stores has awarded its $42 million marketing account to Cramer-Krasselt. The Chicago-based agency defeated 35-year incumbent Cook Marketing Communications of Jacksonville, Florida.

Cook had helped guide the crosstown supermarket chain?s growth from $1 billion to more than $14 billion over the years. Nonetheless, the shop was unable to hold onto the account at a time when a new management team, struggling to stem a tide of red ink and employee layoffs, “wanted someone new,” according to sources.
