Jury finds Samsung violated Apple patents
After three days of deliberation a federal court jury has found that Samsung has infringed on six of Apple’s patents and awarded Apple one $1 billion Samsung must pay in damages.
Apple had asked the Jury to award it $2.5 billion in damages, claiming Samsung violated patents related to the physical and software design of the iPhone and iPad. Samsung countersued, demanding Apple pay it $422 million for its own patent violation.
The Jury found that Samsung infringed on six out of seven of Apple’s patents, with Apple’s iPad design being the exception.
