Sunbeam Scraps Global Agency Review
CHICAGO–Sunbeam Corp. in Delray Beach, Fla., has dropped its plans to conduct an agency search for its $160 million global marketing account, and is talking only with Ogilvy & Mather here–which handles its Sunbeam brands–about “financials and logistics,” said company representative Maureen Bailey. She stopped short of definitively stating the account will be consolidated at Ogilvy, but sources said that outcome is likely. Ogilvy officials could not be reached. Carmichael Lynch, Minneapolis, is agency for First Alert and Wyse Advertising, Cleveland, handles Signature Brands, two companies Sunbeam recently acquired.
