Texas AG Orders Removal of Tobacco Boards
DALLAS–As part of the state’s $15 billion lawsuit settlement with the tobacco industry, Texas Attorney General Dan Morales last week informed tobacco officials that all outdoor tobacco advertising must be removed by July 2. Fifty designated billboards must come down in the next 30 days. The boards being removed early are in 16 cities or regions targeted by the Texas Department of Health because of their prominence near schools, parks or public areas.
