BEAVERTON, ORE. – Sports superstars are payed to play, not parent. That’s the latest word from Nike here and Portland, Ore.-based ad agency Wieden & Kennedy in a dramatic b&w commercial that begins airing this month. Basketball superstar Charles Barkley says, ‘I am not paid to be a role model. I am paid to wreck havoc on a basketball court. Parents should be role models.’
