Detroit Vet, Ex-O&M Staff Reinforce Office
DALLAS–Mike McDonald, a 17-year veteran of J. Walter Thompson’s Detroit office, has been selected to head the agency’s expanded office in Houston.
Last week, as expected, J. Walter Thompson absorbed the estimated $60 million U.S. ad account of Shell Oil brands. The business was resigned by Ogilvy & Mather’s Houston outpost in November.
Ogilvy had said it would shutter its Houston operations to allow JWT, also owned by parent WPP Group, to consolidate the Shell account for which it already has worldwide advertising duties outside of North America.
