It’s not every day you see a video retailer hook up with a telephone company to do a promotion. But Ameritech and Blockbuster Video are doing just that.
Ameritech customers who make phone calls with the Ameritech Complete Card can earn free movie rentals from Blockbuster Video. The three-month promotion offers users of the calling card a free rental for every two calls made above their monthly average. Customers can receive up to two free rentals each month.
No TV or print will promote the program, but a big direct mail campaign is in the works, according to Ameritech officials.
