Hancock Hires Former Ingalls Exec BOSTON--Diana Scott this week joins John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Co. as vice president of its retail direct distribution department. She will be responsible for increasing the sales of Hancock products sold directly to consumers. Scott was most recently senior vice president and managing director of Ingalls One to One Marketing in Boston [Adweek, Nov. 16]. Margeotes Drops Out of PNC Search BOSTON--Margeotes/Fertitta + Partners in New York has withdrawn from the review for the estimated $25 million account of PNC Bank. The remaining agencies include incumbents Ketchum Advertising in Pittsburgh and McKinney & Silver in Raleigh, N.C.; Mullen in Wenham, Mass.; W.B. Doner & Co. in Southfield, Mich.; and Deutsch in New York. Consulting firm Richard Roth Associates in Chappaqua, N.Y., is assisting the client with the review. Cindy Crawford Wears Those Foster Grants BOSTON--Smithfield, R.I.-based eyewear maker Foster Grant will break a print campaign and sweepstakes in the spring featuring †bermodel Cindy Crawford. The program was created by Cornerstone Marketing in Laguna Beach, Calif. Print ads will appear in People, Glamour, Parenting and Cosmopolitan and feature the client's long-standing tagline: "Who's that behind those Foster Grants?" LBC Design in Providence, R.I., had handled the estimated $3-5 million account following the shutdown of Leonard/Monahan. Shepard's Selects Stackpole BOSTON--Stackpole & Partners Advertising in Newburyport, Mass., has been named agency of record for Shepard's, a legal citations service in Colorado Springs, Colo. Billings were estimated at $500,000. The agency was selected after a review that included Greenfield/Belser in Washington, D.C., and an in-house team. Stackpole will create a print campaign, direct marketing executions and trade show support. Circle Brings City Hall to the People BOSTON--The City of Boston last week launched a Web site created pro bono by Circle Interactive, a unit of Boston-based Arnold Communications. The site (www.cityofboston.com) offers consumers a calendar of local activities, information on volunteer positions, and a link to city offices, officials and services. While the site will be mostly maintained by City Hall officials, Circle will continue to update graphics and work on projects, said president Eric Snyder. Dawson Named Editor of 'Adweek' West LOS ANGELES--Angela Dawson has been named editor of Adweek's Western edition, effective immediately, announced Adweek editor Alison Fahey. Dawson, former managing editor of the Los Angeles-based publication, succeeds Michael McCarthy, who was promoted to national reporter-at-large and will be based in New York.
