Past client connections at Johnson & Johnson paid off for Deutsch as it picked up Acuvue from corporate Interpublic sibling McCann Health.

Ashley McEvoy, who was named company group chairman of Johnson & Johnson Vision Care in 2012, had worked with Deutsch on Tylenol when she was president at J&J’s McNeil Consumer Healthcare, sources said. The shift returns Deutsch to J&J’s client roster after working on Tylenol for seven years until 2010. (McEvoy left her McNeil role in December of 2008.)
