Meta detailed updates to its privacy policy and terms of service, which will go into effect July 26.

Chief privacy officer, product Michel Protti stressed in a Newsroom post Thursday that while changes were made to the verbiage in both policies, the updates do not allow Meta to collect, share or use people’s data in any new ways.

More detailed explanations were added to the company’s privacy policy, including on how it shares and uses information with third parties, and the privacy policy was paired with its Privacy Center and its new controls to let users manage their experience on the platform, including who sees their posts and topics that they wish to see ads about.

Among the updates: When a user chooses a default audience, that choice will apply to all new posts created in Facebook and shared on their Timeline, unless they select a different audience for a particular post.
