WhatsApp will kick off its first consumer marketing campaign in the U.S. Sunday with a television spot during CBS’ coverage of the National Football League’s American Football Conference Championship game Sunday and continuing for the next few months on digital video, out of home, social and TV channels across the country.
The campaign, “Doubt Delivered,” was created in collaboration with BBDO San Francisco, and its theme is comparing people sending unencrypted texts to sending or receiving mail that is already open, stressing that text messages sent via SMS are not always secure or reliable.
