Nada Stirratt Exits MTVN for MySpace

NEW YORK MTV Networks digital ad sales chief Nada Stirratt is leaving the Viacom unit, having accepted the post of chief revenue officer at MySpace. She replaces Jeff Berman, who left MySpace in August.

Stirratt joined MTVN in July 2006 as evp, digital advertising sales. Before arriving at 1515 Broadway in New York, she served as svp and general manager of Advertising.com.

In a note to staffers dated Oct. 9, Stirratt thanked her team — including senior vice presidents Kevin Arrix, Brad Herman, Heather Hopkins and Jason Witt — for their “extraordinary work” in making MTVN Digital “a best-in-class sales organization unlike any other in the business.” While a replacement has not been named, the four executives Stirratt identified in her farewell e-mail will work together to fill in for her on an interim basis, reporting to MTVN chief operating officer Rich Eigendorff.

MTVN chairman and CEO Judy McGrath assured staffers that the company remains “deeply committed to MTV Networks’ overall digital strategy, and to you, the digital advertising teams,” adding, “we’re in great shape, and it’s thanks to all of your strategic and smart work.”

When Stirratt joins the MySpace team later this month, she’ll be greeted by a number of familiar faces. Former MTVN chief digital officer Jason Hirschhorn was named chief product officer of the social networking site in April, following a tour of duty as president of Sling Media. (Two years ago, Hirschhorn helped broker Sling’s $380 million sale to Echostar Communications.)

Another MTVN alum who made the jump to MySpace is Courtney Holt, who until November 2008 served as evp of digital music for the MTVN Music & Logo Group. Holt is now president of MySpace Music.
