Meta Now Requires Developers of New Apps to Confirm Ownership of Existing Android, iOS Apps

Meta implemented a new requirement to help prevent fraud on its platform, requiring developers of newly created Meta applications to disclose their ownership of new Apple App Store or Google Play mobile apps before they can add their new Meta apps to their settings.

Software engineer Logan Girard explained in a blog post Thursday that this new step will prevent advertisers from being able to optimize their app ads’ delivery for mobile app installs if their ownership of those apps has not been confirmed.
