Washington Post Company Quadruples Q4 Profit
Wow! The Washington Post company’s fourth quarter profit more than quadrupled, the company announced this morning, though that was largely because of a reduction in accounting charges.
However, the publication segment (essentially the flagship paper) made money, too, thanks to staff cuts.
Revenue at the newspaper division fell 4 percent but cost-cutting helped it post a division profit of $3.2 million; the company reported $81 million in profits overall.
