Phew: PBS Picks Up A Sponsor
We’ve been telling you about the NewsHour’s financial woes. Now, some good news for PBS, which broadcasts The NewsHour, via Portfolio:
After a four-year dry spell, ExxonMobil will return to PBS as a national sponsor starting June 9, both companies announced today.
The world’s largest publicly traded oil company will partially underwrite Nightly Business Report and NOVA.
(This post has been updated. We earlier misread the Portfolio piece as indicating sponsorship for PBS’ The Newshour. It is just for NOVA and Nightly Business Report.)
