To restate the obvious, the joy of the Christmas season should not be confused with the acceptance of gifts from newsmakers, news sources or others that would create a conflict of interest.
Any perishables received — flowers, fruit, cakes, turkeys, etc,– should be sent to an organization of your choice that can use them, along with a note to the sender saying you have done so.
