LA Media Wake Up to Some Grim News: The Death of Clippers Owner Donald Sterling's Son Scott
The first official news shift of the new year has taken a sudden and very sad turn for local beat reporters after it was confirmed that a man found dead at a Malibu residence is Scott Sterling, 32-year-old son of Clippers owner Donald Sterling.
Outlets such as ABC 7 above, CBS LA, NBC LA, KFI AM 640 and KNX 1070 News Radio are all being very careful to highlight that the cause of death will only be confirmed through autopsy. But LA County Sheriff’s officials have indicated Sterling may indeed have died from an overdose.
As detailed in this December 2000 LA Times magazine article, Scott Sterling was previously involved in a controversial 1999 Beverly Hills shooting of his best friend in connection with an actress they were both courting. RIP.
