Do You See a Pattern?
Joonas, Maija Isola, 1961
WWD unearths a textile treasure trove: The Design Library houses over five million fabric samples dating from the 1750’s in a factory in Wappingers Falls, NY. Apparel designers from places like Nike comb the racks for research, but we’d want to curl up on some toile for a week or so, soaking up the graphic inspiration.
Before you begin your suburban pilgrimage for vintage Marimekko, check out the samples on their website and in this book.
