CQ Roll Call Brings on Two Researchers

CQ has added two researchers to its teams. Kristin Broughton, who earned a master’s in Public Policy at GWU, is joining the CQ BillTrack team as a legislative researcher and Gail Sullivan, an attorney, has joined the Member Information and Research team of CQ Weekly as a researcher.

See the memo, but you’ve been warned. It’s bone dry…

Folks –

I’m pleased to announce that Kristin Broughton will join the CQ BillTrack team as a legislative researcher. Kris joined Dave Meyers’ Member Information and Research team in January in a part-time role. She has fact-checked numerous CQ Weekly articles and Politics in America profiles and has updated scores of data for Capwiz and Knowlegis as she finished up work on her master’s degree in Public Policy at George Washington University this spring.

Prior to joining CQRC, Kris worked as a graduate research assistant at GWU’s Institute of Public Policy, did stints in Minnesota at Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and at Minnesota Public Radio. She earned her BA in English literature from Macalester College. Kris will sit at Neda Semnani’s former desk next to Dan Peake once she moves into her new role on May 31. Please join me in congratulating Kris on her new position.

I’m quite tardy in announcing the arrival of Gail Sullivan, who has joined the Member Information and Research team as a researcher. Gail, who has been doing freelance work on both Capwiz and Politics in America, will take over the Inside Congress fact-checking beat for CQ Weekly and the federal/state agencies beat for Capwiz and Knowlegis.

For the past two years, Gail has been a consultant for Falconwood, supporting the Navy’s technology infrastructure transition and studying risk management plans. She has also worked on DOD-related projects as a management analyst for BearingPoint and interned for Slate’s Political Gabfest. Gail, who graduated from the University of North Carolina, earned a law degree from Wake Forest and has held multiple clerkships. That makes Gail the second attorney on the Research team; you’ll have to insert your own punch line here.

Gail is sitting next to Stacey Skotzko, outside Dave Meyers’ office. Please join me in welcoming her to the team – and be sure to ask her about Basil, her hedgehog.
