BuzzFeed President, COO Jon Steinberg Leaving Company

Will take advisory role at Lerer Ventures as he searches for next project

Brandweek will feature live discussions with marketing pros at ULTA Beauty, Converse, UPS and more. Meet us in Miami Sept. 11–14 to boost your business and elevate your brand.

After four years as BuzzFeed's president and COO, Jon Steinberg is saying goodbye to all the wins, fails and LOLs in order to pursue other entrepreneurial opportunities.

"I didn't want to say I was going to spend more time with my family. That's the ridiculous thing that everyone says. I'm going to develop something big and exciting, but I don't know what that's going to be," he told Adweek.

BuzzFeed CEO Jonah Peretti and Steinberg notified employees of his departure on Monday via a joint memo.
