BELLEVUE, WASH. HTC has hired Interpublic Group’s Deutsch/LA for North American creative, media and digital chores, the agency and client confirmed on Friday.

Deutsch prevailed following a review; there was no incumbent, and upcoming efforts will mark the first time the client has undertaken a domestic branding effort.

“We are thrilled with our selection of Deutsch/LA,” said Steve Seto, executive director of marketing at HTC North America, in a statement. “Their deep understanding of our company values, combined with their expertise in consumer electronics and retail, makes them the perfect choice for HTC as we move toward launching the HTC brand in an iconic and impactful way.”

Eric Hirshberg, agency president, added: “HTC is the coolest mobile company no one’s ever heard of yet.
