Twitter Begins Testing Edge-to-Edge Timeline on iOS

More space for photos, videos

Twitter rolled out non-auto-cropped images on Android and iOS in May, and it began testing another way to enhance how images are displayed on its platform Tuesday.

The social network is experimenting with an edge-to-edge timeline on iOS, meaning that tweets will appear on-screen without a border, leaving more space for content.

A Twitter spokesperson said, “We’re testing this because we’re seeing people have more conversations on Twitter that are both visual and text-focused, and we want to support conversations in all their forms—photos, videos and text.
