Some Facebook users in Illinois may have a little extra holiday shopping money coming their way.
Law firm Edelson PC issued a reminder that users of the social network who are located in the state may be eligible for a slice of the $650 million settlement of a class-action suit against the company.
The suit covered alleged violations of Illinois’ Biometric Information Privacy Act triggered by Facebook’s tag suggest facial-recognition feature.
In order to be eligible, a person must be a Facebook user located in Illinois for whom the social network created and stored a face template after June 7, 2011.
