AD TRENDS ON SOLID GROUND

In the fourth quarter of 2011, most ad pages declined—but not in the Financial and Real Estate category. Ad pages for this sector were up 23% to 1,683 pages, from 1,372 pages the year before.

The biggest gainer within the category was insurance, up 55% over 4Q 2010. Among MPA-The Association of Magazine Media member monthly magazines, top market share for insurance advertising was captured by Reader’s Digest, Reader’s Digest Large Print, Black Enterprise, Inc.,
