Facebook is accepting applications through May 31 for the 2021 Facebook Community Accelerator Program, and the company has committed up to $7.5 million in funding to the initiative.

The eight-month program will provide selected community leaders with funds, mentorship and training to invest in initiatives that extend the positive impact of their communities.

Facebook said each community will receive up to $50,000, and a subset will be eligible to receive part of $1 million in additional funding.

Community leaders will spend five months learning through coaches, a customized curriculum and experts, enabling them to organize and strengthen their community to work better together.
