Meta’s new Twitter clone app—Threads—launched Wednesday night, a day earlier than had been expected.

The decentralized app was made available for pre-order, although not paid, on Monday on Apple’s App Store and Google Play. More than five million users signed up in the first four hours. A web version is expected to go live later.
