After a blockbuster pandemic, Cameo—the company best known for paid celebrity shout-out videos—is a $1 billion company.

The startup raised $100 million in a new series C funding round, led by Jonathan Turner at e.ventures. Cameo, which operates under the legal name Baron App, Inc., was previously valued at $300 million in 2019 after a $50 million series B led by Kleiner Perkins. 

“Cameo is creating a new category and fundamentally changing the relationship between talent and fans,” Turner said in a statement.
