The recession may have taken its toll on some freelancers—with a third saying their business was worse in 2009 than in 2008.
The majority of freelancers pull an hourly rate of $26-$50, though a surprising number charge under $25 an hour.
A large number of freelancers didn’t contribute to any sort of retirement plan last year.
