WSJ Shuffles Top International Editors

Bill Spindle, Alastair Gale and Jonathan Cheng get new roles.

The Wall Street Journal has named Bill Spindle south Asia bureau chief, Alastair Gale Japan editor and Jonathan Cheng Korea news editor.

Spindle rejoined the Journal after a brief hiatus in 2010. He has previously served as assistant foreign editor and bureau chief for the Middle East, Africa and South and Central Asia. Spindle succeeds Gordon Fairclough, who has been named editor for politics and economy for Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Gale most recently served as the Journal’s Korea bureau chief.
