Where Else Can You Find ELSE/WHERE?

We pointed you last week towards Janet Abrams’ review of the Art Center conference. We also alluded to her new book, ELSE/WHERE: MAPPING–New Cartographies of Networks and Territories, which she co-edited with Peter Hall, and Deborah Littlejohn designed. You can buy the book here.

To get fired up before your copy arrives, there’s a companion site, a blog about mapping in the digital age, which includes a killer “TextArc” designed by W. Bradford Paley which maps the most-used terms. It’s so beautiful you could use it as wallpaper.

With book in hand, get yourself to NYC for the launch party, where a panel will discuss “Aerial Views/Synoptic Visions.” If you don’t know where the Van Alen Institute is, we’ve included our favorite map.
