The Gold Circle was established in 2004 by the National Television Academy to honor individuals devoting 50 years or more to the broadcasting industry. The Silver Circle was established in 1987 to honor individuals devoting 25 years or more to our industry.

The 2006 honorees join an impressive group of industry professionals who have helped shape the past, present and continue to influence the future of the broadcast industry. These leaders have inspired excellence and innovation in every communications discipline. With the induction of the 2006 honorees, the Silver Circle totals 192. This year’s three Gold Circle honorees join Willard Scott, who was our premiere inductee last year.

These remarkable media professionals have devoted a half-century and quarter-century or more to the broadcast industry and have made significant contributions to the National Capital Chesapeake Bay community.
