Thin Is No Longer In At Glamour

Great news for Glamour and Cond&eacute, Nast: the fashion magazine’s ad pages are up 57 percent for the month of September. That’s 241 ad pages for September of this year versus 153 for the same month in 2009. That makes for quite a hefty magazine — Glamour‘s September issue will include over 400 pages in total.
One explanation, as The New York Times notes, is Glamour‘s decision to begin selling ads for its iPad app. As part of their package, those advertisers interested in purchasing ads for the upcoming app were also required to buy ad space in the magazine’s print edition. providing an example of how digital and print can not only peacefully co-exist, but work together to advance a particular title.
