(A Sprinkling of Things we Think you Ought to Know…)

CPAC’s Saddest Panel – Now that CPAC is over, Twitter will be a LOT less interesting. I think we’ll kinda miss all the pictures of weirdos wearing “Zombie Obama” face-paint, sad Presidential mascots and Newt Gingrich. One of the sadder events that was featured at CPAC was an event called, ““Stop THIS: Threats, Harassment, Intimidation, Slander & Bullying from the Obama Administration.” Catchy, right?

On the panel was Breitbart’s Ben Shapiro, who has been getting a lot of attention lately. Unfortunately for him, all that attention doesn’t translate into attendance at CPAC. Little Green Footballs snapped this shot of the panel, which looks emptier than minibar in a CPAC hotel room.

WaPo‘s Weingarten thinks he can play baseball and Tapper’s debut…

What’s Weingarten Writing?WaPo‘s “humorist” Gene Weingarten has Spring Fever. It’s getting closer to baseball season and Gene writes an open letter to the New York Yankees baseball team about joining the team. He makes the argument that, while most teams made smart moves in the off-season, the Yankees signed up a bunch of washed up, over-the-hill, boring employees who aren’t entertaining anymore. Hey, Gene would be PERFECT for that! Perhaps the Yankees have been paying attention to how WaPo handles their personnel decisions.

Tapper’s Debut – The media world has been anxiously awaiting Jake Tapper’s debut as host of “The Lead” on CNN for some time now. He jumped from ABC to the struggling cable network last year. His new show debuts this afternoon at 4 p.m. with QUITE the guest list. HuffPost reports that his first guest will include NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg and comedian Stephen Colbert. Hopefully, some actual NEWS will be wedged into between interviews with those two clowns.
