Skiba Joins U.S. News

From an internal U.S. News & World Report email, obtained by FishbowlDC:

Please join me in welcoming Katherine Skiba to the Nation & World section. Katherine comes to us from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel where, since 1982, she has covered the gamut: the Iraq war, 9-11 attacks, the demise of the Soviet Union, the Mideast, the funeral of Diana, the Oklahoma City bombing, and serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, among many others. For the past seven years she has been based in Washington, covering Congress, the White House, the Pentagon, federal agencies, think tanks, campaigns, elections, and inaugurations. In other words, she comes to us with a very fat and up-to-date Rolodex, one that will no doubt come in quite handy in her new role as U.S. News’s congressional correspondent.

Katherine has a B.A. from Marquette University and was a Nieman Fellow in 1991. She is the author of the book, Sister in the Band of Brothers: Embedded with the 101st Airborne in Iraq. She is married to journalist Tom Vanden Brook of USA Today.
