Getting Ready for the Restaurant Rolling Stone LA

After being used for an American Music Awards after-party in November, the restaurant Rolling Stone LA (a.k.a. RS/LA) is set to open its doors to the public February 1st. The new eatery is located on the second level of the Hollywood & Highland Center with seating for a 140 diners and a patio.

On the executive ownership side of things, one of the people involved with the licensed-brand eatery has very legitimate connections to the music industry. Jason Edmonds, a VP with American Dream, the company partnered on the project with Dwight Freeney of the Indianapolis Colts, has written songs for Whitney Houston, Boys II Men, Baby Face and others.

But based on some advance press today at, we’re not sure the restaurant and lounge’s designer got the pop music memo. Here’s how interior magician Gavin Brodin describes the design motif:

“The travel lounges of the British ruling class meet the conceptualized Paris of the 1870s.”

Huh? Add in a reception desk made out of an antique cart rescued from an old citrus factory and it sounds more like the bastion of eBay LA. But we’ll just have to wait and see for ourselves, come next month.
