Roll Call Snags Politico Reporter

We are delighted to announce that Meredith Shiner is joining Roll Call’s Senate reporting team.

Meredith has spent most of the last two years reporting on Congress and national politics for Politico. In her time on the Hill, Meredith covered both health care and Wall St. reform extensively, while also tracking Senate leadership. Meredith has packed an enormous amount of experience into the last couple of years. She was on the ground in Arizona after the Giffords shooting and in Madison during the massive labor protests.

Meredith brings a unique combination of energy and insight and will be a great fit on a leadership team filled with thoughtful, hard-charging reporters. We look forward to having Meredith contribute to our goals for standout enterprise reporting on the people, politics and pressures of Capitol Hill.

Before starting at Politico in October 2009, Meredith, a Chicagoland-area native, studied political science and English at Duke University. But mostly, she spent her life in the offices of The Chronicle, Duke’s independent daily newspaper, where she served as sports editor from 2007 to 2008. She was there for the Duke lacrosse scandal, no small matter.

Meredith arrives June 27. Please join us in welcoming her to Roll Call.
