Rob Walker Tells Design Ethics Like It Is

It’s a good thing that “Consumed” columnist and brand-master Rob Walker is updating his blog murketing almost every day now, because we’ve already pored over all the archives in search of little gems like this one.

About a year ago, Walker was asked to contribute a book about design ethics. Using the cover of Citizen Designer as a jumping off point, he wrote an essay about ethics in branding, which an editor for the book–“someone who teaches design,” Walker doesn’t name who–rejected as too “inflammatory.”

Luckily, Walker posts the cold hard truth in its entirety, so you can be the judge. There’s also a completely blank comment field just begging for hearty debate.
