Read Michael Chabon’s Spider Man 2 Script

Author, professional comic nerd and Yiddish Policemen’s Union media darling Michael Chabon may be a west coast resident, but he also wrote the original script to the New York-set film Spider-Man 2.

Now you can read Chabon’s Spider-Man script [PDF], courtesy of book publishers McSweeney’s. Dave Eggers and company are putting out Chabon’s new book, Maps & Legends — and are making Chabon’s script publicly available as a publicity stunt.

As for the book itself:

Michael Chabon’s sparkling first book of nonfiction is a love song in sixteen parts — a series of linked essays in praise of reading and writing, with subjects running from ghost stories to comic books, Sherlock Holmes to Cormac McCarthy. Throughout, Chabon energetically argues for a return to the thrilling, chilling origins of storytelling, rejecting the false walls around “serious” literature in favor of an wide-ranging affection.
