MTV’s NextMovie Hires Senior Editorial Staff

MTV Networks today officially announced the appointment of three senior editors to the recently officially launched site, NextMovie, a new cross-platform digital brand celebrating movies.

Kevin Polowy, executive editor; Brooke Tarnoff, senior editor; and Breanne Heldman, senior editor; are all veteran film and pop culture journalists with extensive experience in the digital realm.

As executive editor, Polowy will work closely with NextMovie vice president and general manager, Scott Robson, to drive the editorial content and voice of NextMovie to create a complimentary experience to MTV Networks’ movie content.

Prior to joining NextMovie, Polowy was senior editor at AOL’s, where he covered Hollywood for eight years.

Tarnoff comes to NextMovie by way of AOL’s popular pop culture site, where she spent two years as an entertainment editor.

Before becoming senior editor at NextMovie, Heldman spent two years as E! online’s sole New York senior reporter covering a variety of entertainment news and events, including premieres, shows, and fashion events. Prior to her time at E!, Heldman served as veteran features reporter at the New York Daily News.

“We are incredibly thrilled to have Kevin, Brooke and Breanne join the NextMovie team,” said Dermot McCormak, MTV Networks music & logo executive vice president Dermot McCormack. “Their experience, talent and passion for film journalism are invaluable additions to NextMovie and the MTV brand.”

MTV Networks launched NextMovie last September and through grassroots efforts has organically grown the traffic to more than 500,000 unique visitors per month with the aggressive goal to gross the 1 million mark by the end of the year.
