You might be saying: enough with the Modernism already, Jen. I’m sorry… I just can’t help myself. I just found out about this exhibition and its web site via a mailing list I am on. The Florida Home Modern Living is an upcoming exhibition at the Historical Museum of Southern Florida:

The Florida Home: Modern Living 1945-1965 – This exhibit focuses on architecture common in Florida home construction after World War II. The exhibit will include a model home. Museum Main Gallery, free.

This exhibit demonstrates the unique architecture and lifestyle that resulted from the state’s population boom between 1945 and 1965. Drawings, photographs, magazines, models and film footage offer a glimpse into the lives of South Florida residents following World War II. The highlight of the exhibit is full-scale reconstruction of a 1947 house designed by architect Igor Polevitzky.
