LA Times: Highland Park is Cute

Today’s Column One in the LA Times looks at Mr. T’s Bowl, the Highland Park bar where hipsters rub shoulders with working-class old timers. A perfectly fine human interest story. Fishbowl has karaoked at Mr. T’s Bowl once or twice himself.

But when was the last time the LA Times published a *real* news item from Highland Park of any substance? Seriously, when? I would check the archives online but I don’t have DSL. The Times tends to treat anything east or south of downtown or north of Burbank as slice-of-life fodder rather than newsworthy territory.
