KPFK's Cautious Approach to Programming Changes

Last month, KPFK program director Alan Minsky sent a memo reminding everyone of the station’s financial dire straits. He politely asked programmers to grow their audience and fundraising, or voluntarily leave the airwaves in order to make room for new and more profitable shows.

LA Observed has the latest email from Minsky, explaining that exactly no programmers took up on the offer.

As a result, he warns that the hammer is about to fall: “New voices need to be added to KPFK’s programming.
